Sixth Form Admissions
Prior to applying
Kings Langley is an inclusive school and welcomes applications from external students in addition to the many Kings Langley students who continue their journey into our Sixth Form. We offer two broad study pathways, with the minimum entry requirements score based on the applicants best six grades of 30 for Pathway Three and a minimum score of 36 for Pathway Four. Students then need to meet the entry requirements for each A Level subject they wish to study.
We understand that subject choices may change between declaring an interest and results day. Students will have the opportunity to change their subject choices as long as they meet the subject requirements and fit the options blocks. This is subject to space being available on the course.
Students who have not achieved a level 5 grade in Maths and/or English at GCSE level will be provided with the opportunity to attend re-sit lessons. Those students who achieved a level 3 grade or below this will be compulsory. At Kings Langley we invest in our students by ‘future proofing’ as this grade pass is a requirement for most Higher Education and employment options.
Application deadlines for internal students Friday 14th February 2020 and external applicants Tuesday 25th February 2020.
In June there is an Induction Day for all Sixth Form applicants. The day will give the opportunity for students to get a feel for the Sixth Form and the subjects they wish to study. On this day students will be issued with Bridging work to undertake for each subject to complete and return on enrolment day in September 2020.
