Remote Learning provision

Art & Photography

KS3 

Work will be uploaded onto MS Teams which will allow students to produce work that follows the curriculum, even if they are unable to access the specialist equipment that is being used within school.  Suggested equipment will be listed and appropriate resources will be provided.  Where possible and relevant, PowerPoint resources will also be provided.

Year 10

As above.

Year 11

Students are provided a student handbook on MS Teams which details the work required for their area of study.

KS5

Students are provided a student handbook on MS Teams which details the work required for their area of study.

Design Technology & Food

For our practical lessons

  • A request to students to watch a relevant YouTube video clip and write down instructions of what they watch (e.g. pasta making or wood joint or silk painting etc.)

  • Accompanied with a research task e.g. types of pasta and pasta recipes, types of wood joints and woods, properties of silk and uses)

  • This work will then link to the POS.

For assessment lessons

  • Students will be asked to continue with revision in preparation for when they are next in to take the assessment.

For theory lessons

  • We will upload the PowerPoint slides and the worksheets being used in the lesson for them to complete.

For NEA lessons

  • Students to continue to work on their own PowerPoint slides (DT) / or word documents (Food)

 

History

KS3 

The class teacher will upload Poweroints and lesson resources.

KS4

The class teacher will upload Oak academy online lessons.

KS5

Live lessons/For NEA students they should continue working on their own projects.

All work that is set for students that are self-isolating must:

  • Have a written note included in the instruction that it is for students who are self-isolating.

  • A reminder that there is no need to print resources will be mentioned in the instructions too.

  • Work to be set under ' Assignment' as per instructions (please do this for now until we receive further information about this).

Drama

KS3

Lessons will have a series of PowerPoint slides, with clear instructions and resources linked closely to the topic that is being covered in the classroom. Tasks will be structured to help support students' knowledge of the topic and allow them to build on the practical skills once back in the studio. 

KS4

Classes will be set tasks linked to their set text (Blood Brothers) or coursework. These will enable students to keep up to date with the theory elements covered in class.

KS5

Students will receive detailed information about appropriate tasks to complete in line with their set text study (either Our Country's Good or Antigone). 

Politics

Year 12

Key Stage 5 students will be invited to join the lesson live, virtually, via Teams. PowerPoint slides and resources will be sent to them on Teams prior to or at the start of the lesson so that they are able to complete the same work as the students in the classroom. Students should inform their teacher if they are not able participate in the lesson virtually.

Year 13

Key Stage 5 students will be invited to join the lesson live, virtually, via Teams. PowerPoint slides and resources will be sent to them prior to or at the start of the lesson so that they are able to complete the same work as students in the classroom. Students should inform their teacher if they are not able to participate in the lesson virtually. For independent learning they will be expected to be taking notes of the daily news and current affairs as they would when in school.

Maths

Key Stage 3 and 4

Mathswatch tasks matching the program of study.  The teacher will invite the students to join the start of the lesson.  The students should be joining at the very start of the lesson and not several minutes in. At this point they will be set a Mathswatch task which matches the work we are doing in the classroom.  

Key Stage 5

Live streamed lessons. The teacher will invite the students to join the lesson through Teams.  Students need to be ready to join the lesson at the very start.  

PSHE

KS3 and KS4

Teachers will use the National Oak Academy Citizenship and PSHE resources (RSHE (PSHE) lessons for Key Stage 3 students - Oak National Academy (thenational.academy) and Citizenship lessons for Key Stage 3 students - Oak National Academy (thenational.academy) They will set work as an assignment on Teams and select the name(s) of students who are self-isolating. Students will be expected to make notes as they watch the Oak Academy teacher led lesson. They will show the notes and work completed to their teacher when they return to school.

KS5 PSHE

The class teacher will send a PowerPoint to students who are not in lessons through TEAMS. 

Business

KS4

Seneca Learning to match the programme of study. This will be set on Teams. 

KS5

Live lesson to be provided, screen to be shared with students. Resources for lesson found in files and class resources in Teams channel. Seneca Learning platform used to support understanding of lesson topics. 

Economics

KS5

Live lesson to be provided, screen to be shared with students. Resources for lesson found in files and class resources in Teams channel. Seneca Learning platform used to support understanding of lesson topics.

PRE/RE

KS3

Year 7 - Teachers will upload PowerPoint presentations or textbook/worksheets for each lesson.

Year 8 - Oak national academy lessons will be used. Relevant links will be posted to teams.

Year 9 - Students will be directed the relevant section of the holocaust home learning pack. This includes all resources and tasks and some links for clips.

KS4 

Class teachers will upload relevant oak academy online lessons.

KS5 

Work for students will be uploaded to teams by individual teachers.

English

KS3

The class teacher will upload PowerPoints and lesson resources. Students will also be directed to use Seneca and/or Bedrock

KS4 

The class teacher will upload PowerPoints and lesson resources. Students will also be directed to use Seneca and/or Bedrock and/or Massolit and/or Guiglit videos.

KS5

A combination of Live Lessons and resources uploaded on Teams.  Year 13 students to also continue working on their NEA.

All work will be;

  • Checked by the class teacher when the students comes back to school
  • Completed online or typed so it is easier to transfer into exercise book

Geography

KS3 and KS4 

The class teacher will upload the relevant PowerPoint and any related handouts or textbook scans.  Students will be given instructions about completing and submitting the work in the covering note from each teacher.

KS5

Work for students will be uploaded to Teams by the individual teachers, to cover the missing lessons.  Invitation to participate in live lessons through sharing screen will be issued by individual teachers.  Year 13 students to continue to work on their NEAs.

Psychology and Sociology

KS5

Assignments will be created on Teams each week referring isolating/unwell students to lesson PowerPoint slides with reference to workbooks or scanned and uploaded resources.  Students will also be directed to online learning resources for recorded material such as content videos from Seneca and/or Massolit as well as revision and resource websites such as Tutor2U and Revise Sociology.

PE

GCSE/A-Level classes

Where possible, access to the live lesson via MS Teams will be provided.

If the above proves difficult, any missing student will be provided with a full copy of a lesson's PowerPoint, indicating where they should take notes, undertake lesson tasks, and complete homework.

KS3/4 PE lessons

Where possible, access to the live lesson via MS Teams will be provided.

If the above proves difficult, any missing student will be provided with copies of Interleaving Knowledge PowerPoints on the area to be studied that half-term and ask them to complete the tasks indicated.

If a student is well enough to exercise, they will be asked to complete the Online Fitness Log which will be provided by your teacher. This should be sent via MS Teams and returned to their teacher for feedback.

Science

KS3 

Class teachers will direct student(s) to the relevant Oak academy lesson on TEAMS.

KS4 

Class teachers will direct student(s) to the relevant Oak academy lesson on TEAMS.

KS5 

Live streamed lessons. Class teachers will upload relevant lesson resources on TEAMS.

Music

KS3 

Lesson PowerPoint (and any resources needed) will be uploaded each week to MS Teams for each year group. Alternatives to practical work will be provided where needed.

KS4 

Assignments will be set for each week on MS Teams alongside lesson resources.

KS5 

Live streamed lesson and work set on MS Teams as an assignment. 

Modern Foreign Languages

KS3 

The class teacher will upload PowerPoint and lesson resources. Students will also be directed to use Oak National Academy or BBC Bitesize.

KS4

The class teacher will upload PowerPoint and lesson resources. Students will also be directed to use Oak National Academy or BBC Bitesize.

KS5 

A combination of Live Lessons and resources uploaded on Teams.  Year 13 students to also continue working on their Independent Research Project.

All work will be:

  • Checked by the class teacher when the students comes back to school.
  • Completed online or typed so it is easier to transfer into exercise book.
